South to North: Day 6... Nashville, TN

DAY 6
Friday, July 18, 2014
Nashville, Tennesse, USA
Weather: Cloudy, 21 celsius

When traveling, the best way to truly experience a new place is by staying with locals.

While mapping out our trip, Javier called his friend Drew in Nashville and we made plans to stay with him and his girlfriend Genoa. Here's a photo of when we met up with Drew.

Our first stop of the day was 12 South Taproom for some brunch.

After brunch, we headed over to Drew's place. Here's a photo of the guys looking very serious while I was trying to figure out the 10 second timer on the camera...

Eventually I managed to figure out the timer.

Genoa was working today, and we hung out on the front porch and spent the afternoon sharing music, cold drinks, and listening to the rain.
Check out our band Peninsula and Drew's band Damn Arkansan for a little taste.

In the evening, we headed down the road to Betty's Grill for some billiards and burgers.

Betty's is a funky place with a checkered floor and dim lighting, perfect for a Friday night.

Pool is quite the strategic game...  calculating angles and velocity... it made me think of my physics class in university and questions on the exam like "Henry throws a football to George. The football leaves Henry's hands 1.5m above the ground with a speed of 15 m/s at an angle of 25 degrees above the horizontal. If George starts running 10 m away from Henry along the line of the flight of the ball when it is thrown, what constant velocity must he have to get to the ball at the instant it is 1.5 m above the ground?" Half way through the question, I probably started doodling footballs and wondered why I was taking physics. Although I know physics is very practical, I prefer calculus... which is not very helpful when you're playing pool.

Later, we headed back to Drew's place and he went to pick up Genoa from work. By the time they got back around 10pm, we were all asleep on the couch. Long days and late nights finally caught up with us.
